My Beaver Group (part of Scouts) is raising money for The Grand Appeal - the official Bristol Children’s hospital charity.  We are taking part in sponsored activities as a tribute to Hugh Spiers, who’s big brother Angus, is part of my Beaver Group. 

Hugh passed away in June 2022, aged four, after bravely battling T-Cell Acute lymphoblastic Leukaemia. His treatment over the course of one year involved chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a stem cell transplant, all of which he took in his stride. Hugh remained joyful and full of energy throughout all the massive challenges faced during his treatment. His strength, tenacity and grace inspire us each day.

The Grand Appeal is the official Bristol Children’s Hospital charity. All funds raised will support other children and families on Starlight and Ocean wards where he was cared for. Any funds raised will also contribute to future medical research into​ lifesaving treatments for T-Cell ALL. Hugh’s  amazing team of Consultants, Doctors, Nurses and Play Therapists do incredible work in helping children and teenagers with his condition. We hope to raise funds in Hugh's memory and carry on his legacy by helping to support the amazing staff at the Childrens Hospital in any way possible.

My mum asked me what I’d like to do as a sponsored challenge and I decided to bike ride from Bath back to my house in Bristol which is about 14 miles!  Thank you for sponsoring me! Xxx
