Wheeling Through Wales for Hugh

About
During early September this year a team of us (Kevin, Tom and I) will be completing a 430km cycle from the north tip of Wales (Anglesey) to the south in Cardiff. This will take us three days and will involve a challenging 5500m of ascent. From there we will cycle across the Bristol Channel to finish at the Bristol Children's Hospital. Why are we doing this challenge? This is a tribute to Hugh Spiers, our beautiful boy who passed away in June 2022 due to T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. His treatment over the course of one year involved chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a stem cell transplant, all of which he took in his stride. Hugh remained joyful and full of energy throughout all the massive challenges faced during his treatment. His bravery has inspired us to raise funds for the incredible nurses, doctors and play therapists at the Bristol Children's Hospital. The Grand Appeal is the Official Bristol Children’s Hospital Charity, who are committed to saving lives and supporting families at the Children’s hospital. All funds raised will support other children and families on Starlight and Ocean wards where Hugh was cared for. Any funds raised will also contribute to future medical research into lifesaving treatments for T-Cell ALL. We hope to raise funds in Hugh's memory and carry on his legacy by helping to support the amazing staff at the Children's Hospital in any way possible. Thank you for your amazing support, it means so much to us all and we hope we can do Hugh proud by cycling over the finish line in reasonable condition after a lot of hill climbs!

Raising our Target!

All... your support has been utterly AMAZING! We are so overwhelmed by all the amazing messages of support and donations. Jamie, Katy and Angus take so much strength from the fact that we are all talking about Hugh and that he is at the forefront of our minds. Given that through your continued generosity we have almost reached the 10k target already, we are upping the target to 15k to keep the momentum going.
